Welcome to the Early Intervention Conference 2024! This is the third early intervention conference (EIC) and we are excited that you are here.
The inaugural EIC was held in 2018 and was first mooted as a common platform for professionals working in early intervention (EI) to learn and share best practices. Such a platform was not available in Singapore at that time. The second conference was held virtually in 2021 amidst the Covid pandemic and was well received with 1400 participants in attendance including from the early childhood and medical sectors. This year, we are excited to be holding the conference physically again on 26 April 2024, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
Our primary goal for the Conference is to provide a common space for early intervention professionals to come together to share and learn best practices from the field experts and fellow practitioners acquired through the 30 years of establishment in the field of EI within Singapore.
With EIC 2024 and its collaborative activities, we seek to achieve the following outcomes:
- A stronger EI professional identity, status and recognition with professionalised training and development, resulting in better retention rate and increased pipeline of professionals entering the sector;
- Partnership and collaboration among EI providers and the community for better outcomes of services and the children we serve;
- Greater awareness on the importance of EI and the important role of the EI sector;
- Sharing, engagement and learning among EI professionals and experts, speakers on current early intervention practices and issues as well as updates on evidence based studies.
This year, we have chosen the theme: “Deepening Intervention Practices in the Early Years”. In light of the changing EI landscape in Singapore, we hope to elevate our practices to better serve our students and their families, as well as recognize the needs of our professionals in the field.
Welcome, again and see you there!
